RSU #18 lies in the heart of the famous Belgrade Lakes region of Maine. Messalonskee High School is located in Oakland, ME. Messalonskee is a regional high school which serves 855 students in grades 9--12 from the surrounding towns of Oakland, Belgrade, Sidney and Rome. Founded in 1969, Messalonskee is approved by Maine's Department of Education and accredited by NEASC, the New England Association of Schools & Colleges.
Messalonskee High staff members hold degrees from 55 different universities colleges and schools, representing at least 20 states and three foreign countries. 67% of the faculty either currently hold or are working toward advanced degrees.
