Good Afternoon:

Well the spring weather has finally arrived! Our spring sports season begins today and I am sure that everyone, coaches and players, are anxious to begin practicing.

On March 30th, students in grades 9-12 will be asked to participate in a BrightBytes survey. BrightBytes is an annual survey that helps the district make better informed decisions for technology in areas such as digital citizenship, school and home access to technology, and classroom technology integration. The survey also helps determine where to focus our staff professional development sessions and keep our district technology plan up to date. Students will remain anonymous and we encourage all students to participate so the information is useful. This survey will be taken during guided study on the 30th and will have no impact on classes. If you do not want your son/daughter to participate please let us know by calling the main office, 465-7381.

Tomorrow evening the middle school band along with the high school band will be performing together, Band-O-Rama. From what I have heard from Mr. Forster this is a really cool concert and one you don’t want to miss.

Superintendent Smith will be presenting the 2017-2018 budget at Wednesday’s Board meeting. The following week (March 28th and 29th) there will be two public budget meetings at the middle school beginning at 6:00 pm. I encourage you to attend if you are able to as your voice and comments matter.

Third quarter ends this Friday so remind your son/daughter to make sure that all their work has been handed in.

Many of you who are parents of seniors have been calling about upcoming dates specific to graduation activities. I will be sending out an end of year calendar when we return from April break. However, if you need to know the date of an event prior to receiving the calendar by all means feel free to reach out to us.

Congratulations to our Robotics Team who placed second in last weekend’s competition. They also received the Chairman’s Award which allows them to move on to the district championships.

If you’re free Wednesday at 3:30 the faculty will be taking on the Unified Basketball team in a fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Donations will be accepted at the door.

Have a great week and enjoy the sunshine.
