Co-Curricular & Extracurricular

Thank you for your partnership.

Belgrade Central school offers some terrific opportunities for our students including the following:

Student Council:  This year the BCS Student Council will be working together on activities to benefit our school and our community.  Our Student Council includes students from the third, fourth and fifth grades.  We meet as a full club once a month and in small groups to complete projects and put together fundraisers when necessary.  In previous school years we have accomplished several projects for our community including centerpieces for an area Soup Kitchen holiday meal, decorations for an area Veterans home and purchased and wrapped birthday gifts for children at an area homeless shelter.  In our school we have organized School Spirit Days and have made Spirit Sticks for every classroom in the building.  We have also organized and carried out two fundraisers that included "Candy Cane Greetings" and "Valentine Pencil Grams."  This is an exciting club with lots of student involvement!

At Belgrade Central School, students have been running wild over the after school club: BCS Running Club.

The BCS Running Club is an exciting opportunity in both the Fall and Spring for 1st-5th grade students to participate after school to improve their running ability. During the eight to ten sessions of the running club, students will train on hills on the school grounds, participate in plyometric skills, improve their flexibility with stretching and have timed runs. This is challenging, with grade appropriate expectations for students. The success of the BCS Running Club is due in large part to the fact that it is after school, affordable, and occurs right on our school campus. Students do not need to travel in order to be a part of this fitness activity. The Messalonskee High School Cross Country and Track Teams volunteer at BCS when available.
